Meat Business Women to have royal visit
Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, will be attending Meat Business Women…The Conference 2019 on 14 May 2019 in London.
The event will see a global line-up of speakers including the world-renowned American professor of animal science Temple Grandin, CEO of Irish food board Bord Bia Tara McCarthy and the UK chief veterinary officer Christine Middlemiss.
Chair of Meat Business Women Laura Ryan said: “Meat Business Women is in its fourth year and we are growing at pace in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and indeed across the globe, helping to showcase the meat sector as a positive career choice for female talent. To have HRH The Princess Royal now attend our event is an absolute honour and it will not only help us to raise the profile of the initiative but also mean so much to everyone attending.”
At the event delegates will receive more details on the 2019 ‘One to Watch’ prize awarded to female talent within the meat sector. Last year’s winner Harriet Wilson of Aldi UK won a place on the Cranfield Management School’s “Women as Leaders” course, worth over £4,000.
Earlier this year, the Australian Meat Industry Council became the latest international organisation to partner with Meat Business Women. Other partnerships include Beef + Lamb New Zealand and the International Meat Secretariat.
The Princess Royal was recently in attendance at the Institute of Meat/Worshipful Company of Butchers annual prize-giving ceremony in London which recognised the work of apprentices in the butchery industry.
