The CEO of packaging solutions provider Multivac Group is to step down after 18 years in charge.

On 1 January 2020, Hans-Joachim Boekstegers will hand over control of the business to Christian Traumann and Guido Spix who will jointly manage the company. Traumann will assume responsibility for sales and finance, while Spix will become responsible for technology and production.

Boekstegers joined Multivac as CEO on 1 April 2001 and has been responsible for the systematic expansion of the product portfolio and its sales and service network.

Christian Traumann has been commercial head of the MULTIVAC Group since the beginning of 2002, before being appointed as director and CFO in August 2008. Guido Spix joined the company as director in March 2009 and has since assumed the position of CTO/COO.

With 85 subsidiaries, Multivac is today one of the world’s leading manufacturers of packaging and processing solutions. Since Boekstegers started at the business, its turnover has more than quadrupled, reaching some €1.1bn at the end of 2018, and the number of employees rose from 1,600 to around 5,900.
