Fourth-generation Lancashire cheesemakers Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses have announce its newest launch – The Perfect British Cheeseboard, showcasing its handcrafted hard, soft and blue cheeses to provide customers with the ideal instant cheeseboard to enjoy at home.
The new product has been designed with smaller retailers in mind, for whom space is a premium, but who still wish to tap into the trend for farmhouse cheese and expanding support for domestic cheesemakers.
The cheeseboard features Butlers’ Sunday Best, a crunchy and crumbly celebration of the iconic Lancashire cheese, their popular Blacksticks Blue, a surprisingly creamy orange blue cheese with gentle bite and Button Mill, a small batch cheese known for its one-of-a-kind delicious rind and delicate flavours.
The cheeseboard has a RRP: £4.00
Matthew Hall, fourth-generation owner of Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses said, “The Perfect British Cheeseboard product has been designed with ease in mind – with crowd-pleasing farmhouse cheeses that arrive as the ideal package for sharing (or not!) as an instant cheeseboard experience. We also wanted to make it as simple for retailers to tap into the craft cheese movement fuss-free. The Perfect British Cheeseboard achieves this, with great margins for retailers, making it an extremely attractive proposition.”
Global snacking company Pladis is adding another ‘swavoury’ addition to its Flipz brand: Flipz Strawberry Cheesecake. Having launched in the UK in 2018, Flipz has seen great success in a short amount of time, and this addition to the range will help to drive this even further.
Pladis says this unique new flavour combination from Flipz will offer consumers the familiar sweet and salty taste sensation they know and love. The brand has traded in its classic chocolate coating, and the latest product in the line-up will enrobe pretzels in a sweet and moreish Strawberry Cheesecake glaze – giving shoppers a tasty, bite-sized twist on a classic dessert.
“Since introducing Flipz to UK consumers back in 2018, our shopper base has remained incredibly loyal – with a strong repeat purchase rate of over 30%. We can attribute the brand’s success to the uniqueness of its ‘swavoury’ flavour,” said Jonathan Bull, Head of McVitie’s Commercial & Seasonal Brands at Pladis UK&I.
“In addition to the brand’s established shopper base, we want to help retailers drive incremental sales by encouraging new shoppers – especially younger consumers – to buy into Flipz. This is why we’re particularly passionate about innovation across the range and adding exciting flavour combinations to our core line-up.”
UK hot pie brand Pukka has rolled out a new Chicken Balti pie to UK supermarkets nationwide.
To stand out on shelf, the limited-edition pie will be highlighted with a stadium-themed design on Pukka’s 100% recyclable packaging, explained Pukka’s Head of Marketing, Rachel Cranston.
“We’ve been selling Pukka into stadiums for over 30 years and our Chicken Balti pie has always been a match day highlight. With the nation currently unable to watch their favourite sport live, now is the perfect time to bring our stadium bestseller to UK supermarkets, so the people of Britain can still enjoy the full football experience from the best seat in the house.”
