Great British Biscotti Co transitions to Artful Baker brand and unveils two new flavours
Great British Biscotti Co transitions to Artful Baker brand and unveils two new flavours

The Great British Biscotti Co from Jan 1st, 2021 will transition 100% into The Artful Baker business.

From Jan 2022, UK-based The Artful Baker, which produces a range of sweet and savoury biscotti, will be stripped back to 6 ‘hero’ lines, a mix of revamped and new arrivals including Triple Belgium Chocolate, Sour Cherry & Dark Chocolate, Salted Caramel, Pecan & Toasted Hazelnut, Smoked Jalapeno & Lime, Fennel, Pink Peppercorn & Salt and Sundried Tomatoes, and Kalamata Olives & Oregano.

Great British Biscotti founder Paul Rostand said: “Working with Warburtons coupled with positive feedback about our new Artful Baker single baton offerings, reminded us that we are really onto something special with regards taking a timeless classic and giving it extra integrity & category authority by only utilising best-in-class ingredients (real butter, free-range eggs, pink peppercorns, smoked jalapeno), whilst never resorting to palm oil, lazy fillers or artificial nasties.  Great British Biscotti allowed us to hone our craft in creating sublime permissible treats, but now we’re in a significant growing phase, and with us looking beyond biscotti…. we needed a more indulgent brand identity to reflect our increasingly indulgent and diverse biscuit beliefs.

“This 6-strong selection not only provides the perfect building blocks for growth but acts as the perfect springboard for ‘next stage’ biscuit development beyond biscotti!”

Peanut butter buttons introduced
Peanut butter buttons introduced

UK brand Superfoodio has launched new Peanut Butter Buttons. According to the company, the buttons take the indulgence of a spoonful of peanut butter and transform it into an on-the-go snack.

“We wanted a simpler way to enjoy peanut buttery goodness on-the-go,” said Nirali and Jagir Mankodi, husband and wife founders of Superfoodio. “The problem with a jar (or a squeezy pack) is that you always end up with sticky fingers and an oily mess! That’s why we created our Peanut Butter Buttons that you can hold in your hand. They are the perfect snack to satisfy that peanut butter craving anywhere, anytime. No jars, no mess, no fuss!”

After a huge amount of product development, starting in their own kitchen, Nirali and Jagir came across a unique combination of natural ingredients that creates portable pure peanut butter snacks. Not only are the buttons full of flavour, they also have impressive macros with up to 6g of protein and less than 4g of sugar per pack. They also have high levels of dietary fibre and no refined sugar or palm oil. The buttons are made using only four to five natural ingredients, including peanuts, coconut blossom sugar and sea salt. They are also gluten free and vegan friendly.

The buttons come in four flavours, Original, Coco Crunch, PBJ and Original Plus. Superfoodio’s Peanut Butter Buttons retail for £1.59 and can be purchased directly on their website or through Amazon UK.

Gousto launches festive range
Gousto launches festive range

Recipe box company Gousto has revealed its new festive range, with precise ingredients and recipes delivered to doors across the country throughout December.

The new festive range features a collection of global Christmas sandwiches, inspired by Indian, Mexican, German and Vietnamese flavours, as well as Plant-Based Pig in Blankets (pictured), A Yorkshire Pudding Pizza and Brie & Cranberry Christmas Nachos.

The recipe box company is also releasing a Pork & Cranberry Stuffed Turkey Joint with Pigs In Blankets and all the trimmings, as well as its Vegan Cranberry & Pistachio Nut Roast with all the trimmings - both ready to enjoy in just one hour.

As part of the festive sandwich range, Gousto has also launched a Crowd Sauced Chicken Sarnie with Honey Sage Sprouts, after the recipe boxes social media community nominated their most wasted festive ingredient: sprouts.

This final addition to the festive offering will teach home cooks a new way to reuse their most wasted festive foods, after Gousto’s research showed that over one in five Brits (23%) don’t know what to do with the leftover ingredients from Christmas dinner.

Kathryn Huxtable, VP of Food Proposition at Gousto said: “We’re proud to deliver dinner time inspiration to UK households, and the festive season is no exception. Gousto is seeing a steady increase in demand for Christmas recipes, and this is largely down to our industry-leading choice and recipe variety.

“Following their popularity last year, we’re bringing back even tastier versions of our traditional turkey and Vegan Christmas dinners that can be on the table in just one hour. We’re also offering a whole host of new and innovative recipes that give our customers the opportunity to bring festive magic into every night of the week.”

‘Field to fork’ brand now available in 590 Sainsbury’s stores

‘Field to fork’ brand Mash Direct has secured its first listing nationwide with Sainsbury’s to stock three SKUs of its range ahead of the Christmas season. The range, which is designed to make cooking and preparing vegetable sides hassle free and easy to prepare for consumers, will also have two SKUs listed in Morrisons, as delivery slots start to get booked up by eager consumers preparing for get togethers or family entertaining next month.

Sainsbury’s will launch the Mash Direct Broccoli with Cheese Sauce, Cauliflower Cheese and Red Cabbage & Beetroot SKUs into 590 stores nationwide. In addition, Morrisons will list two additional SKUs of Honey Glazed Parsnips and Red Cabbage and Beetroot alongside Mash Direct’s current listings of ten Mash Direct products.

Lance Hamilton, Sales Director at Mash Direct said: “We are delighted to secure a listing with Sainsbury’s and Morrisons and offer the taste of our farm-fresh produce to even more homes across the UK. Our field to fork award-winning vegetable side dishes are growing in popularity with consumers demanding healthy, convenient ready-to-eat vegetable accompaniments at the family table.”

Mash Direct is headed by the Hamilton family team: husband and wife Martin and Tracy and their sons, Lance and Jack. The farm is located in the green fields of County Down, close to the shores of Strangford Lough in Northern Ireland, and the family is proud to select older heritage varieties of vegetables for their products, chosen specifically for their flavour rather than appearance.

All Mash Direct products are prepared immediately after harvesting. This ensures an unrivalled freshness of flavour and retains the natural texture and nutritional benefits of the ingredients. The full range is low in saturated fat, 100% gluten-free and free from artificial flavourings and colourings.
