Following on from The Kraft Heinz Company’s mashup between ketchup and mayonnaise – Heinz Saucy Sauce – in 2019, the company is adding three new mashups to its portfolio.

A total of 66,000 people voted for Heinz to mix its mayonnaise product with Siracha, Mustard and Barbecue Sauce: the result is MayoRacha, MayoMust, and MayoCue.

“We love that people are getting creative with their sauce combos. So, we placed the power in the hands of the public to decide what mashup we should create next. A quick dollop of our MayoRacha, MayoMust or MayoCue is all it takes to level-up mealtimes and get your taste buds tingling,” said Wendy Lin, senior brand manager at Heinz. “Our Mashupz are the perfect companion for pizza crusts, chips, burgers, sandwiches, sushi lunches and so much more.”

All three sauces are launching into ASDA stores nationwide today with an RRP of £3.39 for a 400ml bottle.

Ice cream maker Häagen-Dazs and French pastry chef Pierre Hermé are collaborating to bring a range of macaron ice cream products to shelves in the UK and France.

The partners have described the collaboration, which sees mini macaroons mixed into Häagen-Dazs’ ice cream, as a ‘love story between ice cream and macaroon, with a Parisian Touch’.

The range includes three different flavours of ice cream: strawberry and raspberry, double chocolate ganache, and yuzu and lemon.

Pierre Hermé said he was enthusiastic and proud about the collaboration. “For 20 years, I have been constantly creating and reinterpreting my macaroon recipes, it is my favourite creative ground. My macaroon recipes, it is my favourite creative ground.

“My macaroons are my identity, so to put them in ice cream, I had to work with the best. Häagen-Dazs is just as passionate as I am about quality, taste and creating new products, so the collaboration was established from the first bite.”

First launching into the UK and France this month, the collection will be available in Europe, Asia, Latin America, the US, and the Middle East in spring-summer.

Snacking and biscuits business pladis is growing its range with a new snacks bar range.

The Wholistic line is made up of two SKUS – Wholistic Peanut, Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt and Wholistic Almond & Raspberry. Both contain a nut butter centre together with either nuts and dried raspberry pieces or roasted cocoa nibs and date paste. These ingredients are ‘cold pressed’.

pladis claims the peanut, dark chocolate & sea salt product provides digestive support and is high in chicory root fibre, while the almond & raspberry offering boasts immunity support due to vitamins alongside added zinc and iron.

“Cold pressed bars are really popular right now and our new Wholistic snack bar range, which also includes a delicious, smooth nut butter centre, is destined to turn the healthier biscuits category on its head,” said Asli Askman, Health and Wellness Director, pladis UK&I.

“We know growing number of consumers take a holistic view on health, seeking to fill their bodies with food that tastes good, does good and makes them feel good That’s why we’ve worked hard – directly with consumers every step of the way – to develop a range that’s got the balance between great taste and health spot on. In fact, in trials, shoppers have already expressed their intention to purchase and try the bars.”

The non-HFSS 40g bars will be launching into Sainsbury’s Local, WH Smith, Amazon and Ocado over the coming months with an RRP of £1.69 to £1.95.
