EMMI UK's premium Italian desert, Rachelli, was released in the UK under a unique UK brand identity on 26 April.

The chilled desert brand released two products, Tiramisu Classico and Tiramisu Amaretto, in 160 outlets of the supermarket retailer Waitrose across the UK.

The brand has several distinct features, such as 100% recyclable packaging adorned with a guide to the phonetic pronunciation and meaning of tiramisu.

Italian is the most popular cuisine in the UK, and EMMI UK are tapping into this with the desert brand.

“With so much demand for Italian culture and cuisine in the UK, and with more people entertaining at home, now is the perfect time for us to enter the UK’s growing chilled dessert market,” said Amanda Burningham, Head of Marketing for Desserts at EMMI UK Ltd.  

“Rachelli is an exceptional offering, combining its authentic Italian heritage - and the craftsmanship this affords - with best-quality Italian ingredients to create deliciously indulgent, convenient desserts, which we hope will be a surefire winner with consumers.”

Rokit Health launches canned wellness coffee
Rokit Health launches canned wellness coffee

Health brand Rokit Health have released RTD canned versions of its wellness coffee for the first time. The coffees, which was previously only available as pods, are enriched with vitamins, minerals and botanicals.

The wellness coffee comes in three flavours: Mind Boost, which supports the nervous system and helps mental performance; Immunity Boost, which helps the immune system; and Energy Uplift, which is enriched with Guarana and Taurine in order to reduce tiredness.

The drinks are made with 100% Arabica cold brew coffee. They are also vegan friendly, as all three canned options are made with oat milk.

Our new RTD drinks not only tap into the booming cold brew trend, but more consumers are also now seeking out a convenient on-the-go coffee drink without turning to sugar-filled options,” said Rokit Health founder Scott Markham.

We’re finding that consumers are increasingly looking for plant-based drinks that offer great taste, with more natural ingredients. Rokit Health is responding to this demand, developing new products that cater to both trends.”

Dr. Oetker launches vegan pepperoni pizza
Dr. Oetker launches vegan pepperoni pizza

Following on from the success of its Vegan Margherita Pomodori, the brand’s first vegan pizza, German multinational Dr. Oetker are launching a vegan pepperoni pizza. It is available in Tesco from 15 May.  

The brand will combine dairy-free mozzarella with passata and vegan pepperoni-salame on a thin pizza base.

The new pizza comes off the back of the success of Dr. Oetker's Vegan Margherita Pomodori, which was worth £2m as of February 2023.

Our first vegan pizza has been a huge success within the category since its launch in 2021, so we’re really excited to grow the range with our new Ristorante Vegan Pepperoni-Salame and to help vegan pizza lovers have more options when it comes to playing it Italian,” said Paula Wyatt, Head of Marketing at Dr. Oetker Ristorante.

Rude Health releases organic ‘no sugars’ drinks
Rude Health releases organic ‘no sugars’ drinks

Hopping on to the trend of consumers increasingly avoiding sugar, plant-based milk brand Rude Health have released two ‘no sugar’ milks: No Sugar Oat and No Sugar Almond. Both drinks contain no naturally occurring sugars.

Each one is made slightly differently. For No Sugar Oat, the production process is slightly changed so that the oats don’t release any sugars. For No Sugar Almond, however, nothing needs to be done, as almonds are naturally sweet already.

The products were released in 233 Waitrose shops across the UK, alongside online delivery service Ocado, on 12 May.

I am even more excited than usual about our No Sugars range innovation,” said Rude Health founder Camilla Barnard.

It’s personally a dream drink because I don’t have a sweet tooth, but I’m big on flavour and we’ve managed to get all the flavour of Oat and Almond with none of the sugars.

Health is very close to my heart – we are called Rude Health after all – and creating a flavourful milk with absolutely no sugar helps to further our goal of making healthy eating a celebration not a sacrifice.”

Both drinks will sell at an RRP of £2.20.

Italian food brand Crosta & Mollica is moving into the oven-ready meal category with three new meal choices: Cannelloni Beef & Pork Ragù, Lasagne Porcini Mushroom & Prosciutto, and Parmigiana Aubergine & Tomato. All three products take around 25-30 minutes in the oven.

The meals are made using ingredients sourced by the company from a variety of regions within Italy itself. However, unlike traditional Italian cooking, the meals don’t take long to make.

All three products have an RRP of £6.00 for 400g

Drinking chocolate brand Cocoa Canopy launches Smooth Milk flavour in UK

Cocoa Canopy, a drinking chocolate brand which sells small beads of hot chocolate, recently launched in UK supermarket retailer Waitrose.

It has launched with its Smooth Milk flavour, which can be combined with milk to create either a hot chocolate or, with the summer approaching, an ice-cold milkshake. All you need to do to create these drinks is melt the beads and combine them with hot or cold milk or water.

Cocoa Canopy packaging is made from 100% compostable materials, and the beads themselves are made from sustainably-sourced cocoa and are palm-oil free. Cocoa Canopy is part of the Rainforest Alliance, an international NGO.

The product launched at an RRP of £6.15.

Jam brand Fearne & Rosie get new listings

The jam brand Fearne & Rosie has gained new listings in Morrisons, Booths and Amazon. The jams, which are low in sugar, are also made with up to 70% fruit.

Amazon will be stocking  Strawberry, Strawberry Super Berry, Blackcurrant and Cherry jams, selling them in cases of six. The shop Booths will stock Strawberry, Strawberry Super Berry and Blackcurrant.  Finally, ten Yorkshire Morrisons outlets will stock top sellers Strawberry and Strawberry Super Berry.

I feel strongly about helping families eat a little healthier, that’s why I founded Fearne & Rosie,” said Fearne & Rosie founder Rachel Kettlewell.
