Taking part over two days this week, the market-leading, free-to-attend Protein Vision digital event is covering the alternative meat and dairy sectors as never before.
Alternative meat
How alternative and plant-based meat producers are utilising new tech to develop better taste, mouthfeel and nutrition will be the key focus on the first day of the event.
Kicking the day off, head of CPG at Circana, Steph Cullen, will dive into the data behind the entire European protein market, looking at the performance of alt meat sales, what segments are tracking up or down and where ‘real’ meat sits within the market.

David Flochel, new CEO of ‘OG’ mass-market alternative meat proteins, Quorn, will reveal how the brand has infiltrated the fridges and freezers of houses – and foodservice businesses – for decades. More so, he will also highlight how he’s setting Quorn up for the future and adapting to maintain its seat at the top.
Rounding off the event, a panel of speakers from some of the biggest names in alternative meat, as well as marketing and data, will explore how the category can and is evolving from ‘field’ to fork.
The panel will delve into how brands need to present themselves to both consumers and customers – retail, food service or other – to succeed, and will feature sector marketing expert, Bella Ali-Khan, senior strategist at Catch A Fire Agency.

Alternative dairy
As the global dairy alternatives market continues to grow, with projections estimating a market value of $61bn by 2029, FoodNavigator has enlisted a crack team of experts to explore the market opportunities and potential risks.
Sponsored by Beneo and Biospringer, the focus of the dairy alternatives day will be on the trends shaping the future of the sector, including the science and potential nutritional conflicts surrounding its progress.
Circana senior vice president of strategic insights, Ananda Roy, will open the day with an exploration of consumer expectations around the makeup and nutritional value of alternative dairy products.
Then, as food tech continues to develop new ways of creating animal-free dairy, Malmö University professor, Marité Cárdenas, will discuss how casein is further dialling up the alt dairy category’s credentials.
Finally, the big question of the day will be answered as an expert panel joins forces to determine where alt dairy is going next.
Milk alternative sales rocketed almost effortlessly, but what is shaping the future of the category and how will consumer perceptions, and needs, form its future?
