Switch on to forklift truck safety
Extra employee safety and reduced product damage are the twin benefits claimed for a new safety switch designed for use with fork lift trucks.
The switch should be used to shut off equipment in order to avoid employee injury or product damage before an impact is about to occur.
“An Impact Safety Shutoff Switch can prevent a simple accident becoming an unnecessary tragedy,” claims the manufacturer Chatsworth Data Corporation.
“When forklift injuries occur, they’re usually serious because is the tremendous weight of these powerful machines.”
The switch weighs just 57 gm and can operate in temperatures of minus 73°C to 135°C. The device is covered by OSHA and NOISH safety regulations, says the company.
