UK oleochemical processing plant for sale
The production site can produce up to 120,000 metric tons of fatty acid products annually. According to the IPP affiliate behind the sale, the plant is suitable for food firms and related operations looking to add capacity, while avoiding costs and lead time associated with new construction.
The site consists of several separate plants that use natural oils and fats to produce fatty acids, glycerol, triacetin and sorbitan esters. Individual structures include:
- a 55,000-metric-ton-yer-year split fatty acid plant
- a 17,000-metric-ton-per-year glycerine purification plant
- a 15,000-metric-ton-per year triacetin manufacturing plant and
- a sorbitan ester manufacturing plant with a top capacity of 9,500 metric tons annually.
In addition to chemical production, the plant complex includes a semi-automated drum filling system that can fill palletized drums and IBCs which reportedly are easily transported from the plant; the materials can be moved via a motorway three miles away, or via barges on the nearby Mersey River.
