Meat suppliers on show in Asia
British organisations Eblex and Bpex will host their own pavilion to showcase the 14 meat exporters from the UK. British beef will be the focus of their stand but will also include lamb, premium pork, sausages, bacon, pies and ham.
Bpex and Eblex export manager Jean-Pierre Garnier said: "FHA is a key date on the world food calendar. It takes place only every two years – alternately with Hofex in Hong Kong – and is an eagerly awaited event. The show is attended by a large number of Asian operators and even from further afield. Thus, it has become the major meeting point for the Asian meat and food trade.
"In addition, Singapore itself is one of the most attractive markets in the world for premium meat and food products. The country produces little food and needs to import it. The UK is well-placed, due to the high quality of its fresh meats and meat products, to supply this demanding market."
Stephen Tan, chief executive of show organiser, Singapore Exhibition Services said: "We’ve come a long way over the years, growing the show to become Asia’s key business platform for the food and hospitality industries.
"Going beyond being a sourcing ground for the regional industry, the show is also a knowledge-sharing platform with the FHA 2014 International Conference and an international competition arena, delivering a holistic experience to all attendees at FHA 2014."
The event sees 28,000 exhibitors and 60,000 attendees gather over three days and will include six speciality shows that cater to the respective sectors within the industry – Bakery&Pastry, FoodAsia, HospitalityStyleAsia, HospitalityTechnology, HotelAsia, SpecialtyCoffee&Tea, which will showcase a comprehensive range of products, equipment and services from producers and suppliers from all over the world.
