Mérieux NutriSciences has bought the Randolph Companies after a shared history of safety services to the food industry.

The firm said Randolph Associates, Inc. and H. Randolph, Inc. (the Randolph Companies) remain separate and will continue to be operated independently.

They join the Mérieux NutriSciences group, including its North American arm, Silliker Inc.

Mérieux NutriSciences has sealed deals in Saudi Arabia, Italy, China, Turkey and Latin America in the last year.

Jim Miller, president of Silliker, said the acquisition was an ‘excellent strategic fit’.

"The addition of the Randolph Companies and their dedicated professionals will allow us to continue our growth and diversify our services to address the industry's most pressing food safety and quality management needs."

The Randolph Companies were founded in the 1970s with an initial focus on the dairy industry, today they provide technical services to a variety of food industry stakeholders.

Randolph Associates provides auditing services. H. Randolph gives technical and management services to companies in quality control, sanitation, food safety and preventive maintenance.

Jayne Randolph, president, said: "Based on our long relationship, it was basically impossible for us to come up with a better organization to join than the Mérieux NutriSciences group."
