Ex M&S director becomes IFST president
Gregory who has been a member of the IFST for over 30 years and a fellow of the institute for over 20 years was elected during the association’s AGM this month and will undertake the role for two years.
“I am delighted and honored to be elected President of the IFST. The Institute is the Voice of the Food Profession and provides the resources for our members to develop their professional careers in this exciting industry,” he said.
Gregory spent 26 years working for M&S before retiring in 2009. He was instrumental in a number of nutrition, innovation and sustainability initiatives and was a co-author of Plan A, industry eco plan.
Prior to that, he was non-executive director of Boparan Holdings (2 Sisters Food Group), non-executive chairman of Acoura, non-executive director of British Retail Consortium Trading, a member of Council and chair of Audit Board of the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) and past chairman of the British Nutrition Foundation.
IFST is an independent body for food professionals in Europe. Its activities focus on disseminating knowledge relating to food science and technology and promoting its application.
