Salaison Levesque licence suspended by CFIA
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the operating licence of Salaison Levesque for failing to put in place required measures to ensure safe production of meat products.

Salaison Levesque Inc. is a ready-to-eat meat processing establishment located in Montreal, Quebec.

CFIA said that adequate controls for food safety related to pre-operational inspections of sanitation procedures were not being reliably implemented on a consistent basis.

There is currently no food recall associated with this suspension.

The company will not be able to resume operations until corrective actions have been implemented and the agency is confident in the plant's capacity to effectively manage food safety risks.
