Healthy Ageing APAC Summit: Danone, The George Institute for Global Health, ai.agency and the Responsible Nutrition Association of India join line-up
The summit, which already features speakers from PepsiCo, Kirin, Nestlé and BioCeuticals / Blackmores (among others), will take place at the Hilton Singapore between July 9 and 11, and will assess nutrition and food solutions to Asia-Pacific's population challenges.
Other confirmed speakers include execs from CBD pioneers Elixinol, clean meat start-up Shiok Meats, personalised nutrition innovators TCI Gene, and the New Zealand government-funded High Value Nutrition Challenge.
The Asia-Pacific region is currently home to about 60 per cent of the world’s population of older people, defined as those aged 60 years or older.
And the number of older persons in the region is expected to more than double from 600 million in 2018 to nearly 1.3 billion by 2050.
This means the demand for nutrition and food products suitable for the elderly population will soar, while younger people are increasingly aware that the nutrition and health choices they make today will affect their quality of life in older age.
This event will look at how the nutrition and food industry can meet the needs of the rapidly ageing populations of today, and more crucially, tomorrow.
Successful summit
Editor-in-Chief of both titles, at Regional Head of APAC for publisher William Reed, Gary Scattergood said: “We are delighted to announce that the event will be attended by a raft of great speakers from so many leading brands, which really goes to show how important this issue is.
“Last year’s event was hugely successful in shining the spotlight on the efforts food and nutrition companies are making to promote healthy changes across all life stages, and this year’s summit is shaping up to even better.”

She will also be joined by Alexandra Jones, from the George Institute for Global Health. She leads the institute’s work on regulatory strategies to promote healthier diets, and has previously worked on tobacco control.
Also joining the line-up is Bangkok-based marketing expert Dave McCaughan and the founder of the Responsible Nutrition Association of India Amit Srivastav.
