Roka Bioscience presentation at IPPE
Salmonella enterica detection in poultry matrices will be the subject of a presentation at the International Production and Processing Expo (IPPE).

Dr Evan Chaney, manager of applications at Roka Bioscience, will discuss results from a study evaluating Salmonella enterica detection platforms using ground poultry and carcass rinse data from five poultry producers.

Results show detection of Salmonella enterica in ground poultry and carcass rinse samples can be improved by using a testing platform that includes an integrated target capture step when compared to PCR and culture confirmation.

The presentation, on Tuesday January 27 at 1:30 in Hall B at the Tech Exchange, will also describe semi-quantitative threshold testing and how it can be applied to poultry operations.

Roka Bioscience’s Atlas detection assay uses molecular technologies and is done on what it calls the “sample-in, result-out” Atlas system that automates molecular diagnostic testing on one platform.
